Day 9

Monday today, so we had to work at the office and Taylor Unit again, which was really nice! When we arrived at the office, we had to put some survey results in Excel. When suddenly, they surprised us with a "Thank you Iris & Myrthe" cake! The people from the office bought it, to thank us for our help at the office. It was so kind of them! At the office, we also had to reorganise some cupboards, which was also fine. Around noon, Iris and I went to Jimmy John's to have lunch. Jimmy John's is a little bit like Subway, but it does look fancier. When we finished our work at the office, we went to the Taylor Unit, just as the other days. We played some games with the children and I helped them with some computer games. Some children thought our accent was really funny, and they could not get over the fact that I say "can't" and they say "cen't" (if you would pronounce it like I have written it of course). It is too bad that today was our last day at the Taylor Unit...
In the evening, we went to a real American baseball game. I thought it was great! The Kornels, the baseball team of Cedar Rapids, had to play tonight, so that is where we went. Becky and Dennis wanted us to have 'the real experience of an American baseball game', so we ate hotdogs and a sort of caramel popcorn (I forgot the name of it..) during the game. It was awesome to see all the enthusiasm during such a baseball game! Iris and I really liked the game, and the Kornels did even win!
Tomorrow will be our last day at the office of the Boys and Girls Club, unfortunately... The other days, we are going to help some other charities, who have their offices in the same building as the Boys and Girls Club.
