Day 7

Weekend! So we did not have to go to the office and the Taylor Unit today. We could sleep in a little this morning, and after that we had breakfast with some real American pancakes and bacon! Today, we went to Walmart, New Bo, Czech Village, the house of Dennis' son and to church. I have said it before, but I will have to say it again: the stores over here are so big! And they really do have everything at Walmart! After we went to Walmart, we went to New Bo and Czech Village. There live quite some people from Czechslovakia in Cedar Rapids, and they mainly live in Czech Village. New Bo is the name of the area. In New Bo we went to a place where they had all sorts of different food stores. After that, we went to the house of one of Dennis' sons. There we met some new people, and we told them a little bit about our internship. We sat in there yard for a while, because the weather was really good again today! Then, we went to church. I thought it was remarkable how modern most churches are here in the United States compared to churches in the Netherlands. After we went to church, we went home to have dinner. Because the weather was still nice by the time we got home, we could sit outside in the yard during dinner. In the evening, it was Dennis and Becky's turn to teach us a card game. So that's what they did, and it was really nice! After we played cards for a while, we went outside again to sit by the fireplace and roast marshmallows. It was a great day, again!
