Day 3

The breakfast this morning was just awesome: donuts! After this great breakfast, we went to the office of the Boys and Girls Club again, for our second day of doing our internship over there. We had to do some administrative stuff: putting things in alphabetical order and putting folders together. Also, we had to sort out the candy and the presents the Club received last Christmas. It was nice to do! During the day, we had lunch with the boss of the Boys and Girls Club. We went to HyVee, which is an American supermarket. Just like the supermarket yesterday, it is so big! You could even have all kind of lunches in the supermarket and eat it over there in a restaurant, and there was even a small conference room. We thought this was quite remarkable, as we do not have supermarkets like this in the Netherlands. After our work at the office was done, Iris and I went to the Taylor Unit. This is a place from the Boys and Girls Club where children can go after school. Unfortunately, we could not help out there a lot today, as we were only about an hour at the Unit. After being at the Taylor Unit, we went out to dinner with our host parents at a Mexican restaurant, because today is Cinco de Mayo. This is a Mexican holiday, so that is why we ate Mexican food today. When we were at the house of our host parents again, we went to play pingpong with the four of us and after that we watched NCIS. It was a really nice evening! Tomorrow, we will go back to the office and the Taylor Unit again, but for now: goodnight!
